Through my years of rasing miniature dachshund puppies, I have learned that if you are expecting them to be lively when you are visiting them, then its best you visit between the morning hours of 09:30 to 11:30. Or late afternoon between the hours of 16:00 and 18:00; puppies seem to be more active during this time. If you can’t arrange your visit for one of these time frames then you have a pretty good chance of watching the puppies just lay around and sleep, especially if the weather is warm.
